Hyun BKHanDavidI am going to take a break from my normal type of blog to share an email with you that came from the young couple who spent the last 18 months with us at North MacArthur church of Christ working as interns.  Their names are BK and Han.  They came to us from a completely Korean speaking church because they wanted to worship as the Bible instructed, but they were very nervous about their English speaking abilities.  Over several years with us they became very beloved, and we were able to give them an opportunity to learn about ministry through an internship.

When their visas could not be renewed as a "religious" worker, they decided they were ready to go back to South Korea and plant the Lord's church as it is modeled in the New Testament in South Korea.  North MacArthur is helping to support them in this endeavor and this is their first report after being there for just a couple of weeks:

How’s everything going? Han, David, and I are doing ok, even though we still have jetlag. It will be gone within 2 weeks. We are having good time with Han’s and my parents, having their hot food and other korean food. Because still we do not have a place to live, we stay in my parents’ house and the house of Han’s parents. Probably we are going to move in a house or apartment on March. I will let you know when we finalize the contract.

Thankfully, we did first worship service with Han’s mother. As you know, because she does not believe in Jesus right now, it was not easy to invite her into the worship service. But, when we asked her, she already expected to worship together. So, before the service, she already prepared. Han and I were glad and thank God for that. As you said, we started our first mission work.

Also, there is one guy whose name is Wan-Tak Joo (you can just say Joo). With this man, I will start my first personal Bible study in South Korea. He has been attending a church for a while. However, it is pretty hard to say he is faithful. So, his wife asked me the personal Bible study with him and he said ok. Actually, I know them very well for a long time. Therefore, when they heard we came back to South Korea, she and her husband already talked about the Bible study and asked me. I surely said yes and we will probably start on March.

Han also started her mission work with 7 children that do not afford to pay for private English institutions. So, Han opened an English class last Monday and finished the first class.

Han and I still receive and read the newsletter of North MacArthur. Although it has been just two weeks, we miss you all. But, we know there are many things we need to do here and we will see each other later. :) We want to say thank you for your prayer and support and we love you.
